What is asthma?
Asthma is a chronic condition that causes inflammation and narrowing of the airways, making it harder to breathe. Common symptoms include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath, which may be triggered by allergies, exercise, illness, or environmental irritants.
Symptoms of asthma may include:
- Wheezing
- Chest tightness
- Difficulty breathing during exercise or illness
- Coughing (especially at night or early morning)
- Feeling unable to take a deep breath
