What is earache?
An earache is pain or discomfort in or around the ear that can be caused by infection, congestion, pressure changes, allergies, wax buildup, or irritation of the ear canal. Symptoms may range from mild pressure or fullness to sharp or throbbing pain.
Symptoms of earache may include:
- ear pain or pressure
- fullness in the ear
- muffled hearing
- popping sensations
- small amounts of drainage or wax buildup
Common treatment
Pure clinician will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and may recommend the following, as medically appropriate:
Prescription ear drops
Oral prescription medications or antibiotics for more severe cases
Discussion about further evaluation or management
